A Week-night out of the house? Awesome :-)

I woke up on Monday a little bit refreshed but still about out of it. I made myself a yummy yummy breakfast sandwich then headed to the office to work for a few hours. Most of what I did was filing and ordering new publications so it wasn't the most exciting day, but it was perfect for my mood. I did not really feel up to doing anything exciting.

After work I let Mallory come kidnap me since we had not hung out in a few weeks. We went to a little boutique with her friend Harrison and then caught some dinner at Arby's. I've never eaten there before and it was not really anything special to be honest. Well, we spent the rest of the night hanging out at at her house. All of the people she hangs out with (besides me) are smokers so I was forced to sit around outside in a smoke cloud with them for awhile. It started to get chilly and all I wanted to do was go home. Luckily! Mallory drove me home because most of the time she'll make her boyfriend drive me and he makes me fear for my life!

I made it home safely and went right to sleep!

Before my head hit the pillow I was asleep!

Lets see. Saturday I worked until 5 and then went to the middle of nowhere with Andrea, sister and sister's boyfriend. We had a crazy night. Dance party and singing and ridiculousness. Andrea had work at 9:30am the next morning so when we realized it was already 4:30 we went right to bed! I had work at 11 so I was exhausted all day Sunday. Luckily it was a slow day so I did not have to do much at the Cafe. Brooke called me while I was at work to see if I wanted to go to a concert that she had just gotten tickets for, but I declined because my body was definitely not functioning properly.

I had a nice relaxing evening at home then crashed around 10:30 for approximately 12 hours! hahah. Even though I was incredibly tired, I managed to make some yummy dinner for myself and chat with some peoples on the Internet. I talked to that boy who dumped me for a little bit which was nice. We're getting along pretty well considering the circumstances. I'm glad to have him in my life even if we're not a couple anymore.

Friday night and I looked good!

Yikes its been a few days since I updated!

I had a great Friday night out with Andrea, her sister and her sister's boyfriend. Jane met up with us with her guy, too! And Brian showed up. And I know a bunch of people out at the bar now from "frequenting."

A slightly creepy guy who I typically avoid when he comes into the Cafe was there. He came up to talk to me and knew my name and life story so that was odd. He was also a VERY close talker. I think I handled the situation pretty well and got the heck away from him in a short amount of time. Another random guy bought me a drink and then pretended to like everything I like. Yikes! The good thing about all of this? I LOOKED DAMN GOOD! hahahaha.

I was wearing one of the new outfits that I had got when I went shopping with Brooke and I felt great! It was definitely a good night even with the creepers lurking. Andrea's sisters' boyfriend turned out to be a really neat guy, too.

Saturday morning met COFFEE DATE with mom, Brooke, Brooke's mom and her friend Casey. We had a lovely time chatting outside in the sunshine of the morning and then stopped by a few garage sales.

I worked right after that and got to make the new sandwiches for the first time! Then I ate one! haha. So yummy! I ended up having to stay 30 minutes later than scheduled because there was so much work to do. Of course, this just means an extra $4+ dollars on my check. And that is equal to something yummy and delicious! hehe.

I realized that I haven't really been sticking to the purpose of this blog. I'm supposed to be making positives out of negatives and what I've been doing is only mentioning positive things. So I'm going to try to redeem myself! I've already started. Originally I think I said that I'm not allowed to be negative, but all I mean by that is that I must say positives to counteract any negativity. I must see the good in all the bad instead of just ignoring the bad.

Anyway, I will update about the other missed days of course. However, I must get ready to leave because Mallory is on her way to get me!

Getting a Jump Start on the Day, and my Life!

Another good day! I woke up so ridiculously early this morning (6:30) to drive mom into work. Then I was just doing Internet things for an undetermined amount of time until I had to be at the office at 9:30. Anyway, somehow people were actually awake that early! So I was chatting with my friend who just quit smoking. Well, I guess he had a tough night, smoked a million cigs, and still hadn't gone to bed yet. At least he can always try quitting again today, right? Hmm.

Interestingly enough I found Brooke awake at this early hour and we talked for a bit then we decided to hangout and listen to some Notorious BIG and other old rap songs. Yes, that's right, first thing in the morning! It was fun times. Then I dropped her off at her moms house and headed to the Cafe for my coffee and out to the office!

When I left the office it was GORGEOUS out! It was so exciting to finally have a day where it was sunny, warm, AND I didn't have anything to do after 1:30! I ended up going to the lake with Andrea and her sister and sister's boy friend type guy (or something). Fun times. Nice sunshine! Refreshing water! AND I ran into my friend Carissa from college. Strangely enough it was at a point in conversation where I was telling Andrea about something that happened on Carissa's birthday party adventure. It was nice to talk to her for a bit even though she was getting ready to leave. It made me really excited for the upcoming Waterfest in our college town. Only two more weeks!

Getting ready to go out on the town tonight. Feeling pretty good. Still some weird feelings, but I guess its part of the healing process!

Oh, and I have a life plan! At least for the next few years. I'm almost 100% sure that I'm going back to school. Gosh, as annoying as it is to think about going back to school, it will be so good to have it over and done with in only two more years!

It actually feels really good to have that figured out even if it is only still planning stages. :-)

Thursday Shmursday? No way!

Gosh, I was so busy all day yesterday that I didn't even have a couple minutes to post to my blog! It's the first day I missed, but ya know what? SOO WORTH IT!

Yesterday was fantastic! I woke up around 8:30 and did a quiz for my online class (I got a 95!). Then I picked up Brooke and we went shopping! I got two really cute shirts and two pairs of skinny leg jeans. I am soo stylin'! And I spend under $50. I definitely needed that 'retail therapy' because the day before I was starting to crack up about the whole break up thing. Brooke and I had a really fun day just talking and laughing. We even picked up tickets to go see Harry Potter next week!!! I'm so excited about that movie. I hope its as good as I want it to be!

I got home from the mall and ended up leaving the house a short while later with Adrienne. We hung out and I got to see her house and meet all of her fishies! She has at least 5 fish tanks. It's a little insane. Then we drove out to her moms house and they had just ordered PIZZA!! So good times with her and seeing her family for the first time in awhile.

So I got home and was thinking of just getting ready for bed. I mean, it was only 9, but I had a long day. Of course Andrea calls me and wants me to check out her new car so she picks me up and we ended up just talking and chilling for a bit. Picked up her sis from the train and then I finally went home to sleep!

It was silly that I spent the whole week not doing much and then on Thursday I ended up with one million things to do! It's great though. I got to hangout with my girls, and NO BOYS were there. SaWEET! So I got the quality female chill time I've been craving and a nice distraction from missing that boy that dumped me.

Well, I'm at work right now at the office so I have to end this here. Of course today is FRIDAY so heck yea, it will be a good night! :-)

Actually turning negatives into positives.

Recently I've been staying up into the wee hours of the night talking to people on instant messenger. This is something I haven't done in quite some time, but you know what? It's great! An old friend of mine informed me of his intentions to quit smoking. I am 100% supportive of ANYONE quitting smoking so naturally I was very excited about this. My goal in life is to help people so I am doing all I can to encourage him to stick with it.

Today has been an interesting day. I got a good amount of homework done and I watched about four episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm woohoo! That show is hilarious and awkward. A very comical representation of everyday life. Since today was the first of two days in a row that I have no major commitments, I used it as a relaxation day. Tomorrow I hope to head to the mall and buy some new tops for going out this weekend. With any luck, my friend, Brooke, will be accompanying me. I really hope she does because we rarely hangout.

Last night I was doing some intense thinking about the physical process of making positives out of negatives. It looks you could use two negatives to make one positive. All you have to do is turn one of them 90 degrees. Interestingly enough, you can have an endless number of positives and they will never turn into negatives. Think about THAT one!

The rain didn't hide my sunshine today. Even though it tried real hard.

The best part of my day was when I realized it was Tuesday! Actually, how I realized it was Tuesday. I'm a girl who LOVES Classic Rock. So whenever I'm in the car, I either have a mix CD on hand or am listening to the local Classic Rock station on the radio. Every Tuesday is Two-fer Tuesday which means two in a row songs by awesome artists ALL DAY LONG!

So there I was on my way into work to learn about our new menu at Joe's Cafe and Bakery. Score! Back to back songs by Pink Floyd! And I realized it was Tuesday! So good.

Quite possibly my favorite part of driving is blasting songs I love and singing at the top of my lungs. I know, I rock!

By the way, our new sandwiches are superb! You should definitely try them if you live near a Joe's.

After the training I headed to the office. It was a pretty slow day which was fine by me. I got my own office for the day because I had to do computer things so that was definitely cool.

On my way home I got a call from my mother who tells me we were going to dinner at my sisters. This of course meant that I got to spend some fabulous quality time with my nephew!! He is so much fun. I love acting like I'm 5 years old.

So I started this a little later than I should have in the day. Meaning: I need to get my booty into bed. I must end with one of my jokes of the day from my homepage...

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours. If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with. If it just sits in your room, messes up your stuff, eats your food, uses your phone, takes your money, and never behaves as if you actually set it free in the first place, you either married it or gave birth to it.

Sunshine on me! Sun, Shine on ME!

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day! The skies have not been this clear or blue in at least a week and I could not be happier about that. While driving through a neighboring town today I showed my mom where all of the massive flooding was only a few days ago. You cannot even see where the water would have been. The sun dried it all up!

I was talking to my good friend yesterday and he told me that he doesn't understand why anyone would break up with me. I totally agree with him. Why would anyone break up with me?! I know that in the past I've been a bit on the crazy side, but I've done such a good job of figuring out life lately. I'm so proud of how things have turned out!

I mentioned to him how good guys are very difficult to find and he told me that's the way it has to be. If they all stuck together it would be much easier for them to all be gone with one bad earthquake or something. I liked the way that was put.

The office was really busy today! The big cheese goes in for surgery tomorrow so everyone was a little on edge with worry and frantic about figuring out how things will go when shes out. She'll be out for 3 months!

I met this guy at the office today. He works on the newsletter for the organization. He was pretty cool. We talked about grad school and how he always thought about going, but then all of the sudden its 10 years after college and he still hasn't done it. Yikes! I need to get this ball rolling if its something I really want to do.

So far it looks like tonight will be another night hanging out at home. It's definitely nice to just relax. I may even go for a walk with mom after dinner!

Gosh, I love this sunshine!

I'll do ANYTHING to avoid dishes. But not really.

I'm the only one of my girlfriends who is SINGLE right now! The good thing about that is I don't have to live/deal with a grumpy guy all the time like they do. I can stay out late and hangout with whomever I want and not have to worry about anyone getting upset or asking prying questions about what I've been up to.

The only one who really can have a problem with anything that I do is ME! (and the government, but that's a different story)

Anyway, work was pretty good today. I got in early and just started anyway because I didn't want to end up staying late to finish up. On my last customer of the day I sliced my hand! Basically blood was going everywhere and I had to pass the customer off to my co-worker. The best part of all of this? I got out of doing the dishes for the SECOND time this week! Last time was because I burnt my hand on hot coffee and couldn't deal with the hot water.

Now, what will I do next time to avoid dishes?! Bwahahaha!

A Fresh New Start

After all of my plans for the 4th of July disappeared I was left with a favorite holiday and nothing to do. I was also left with a pile of misery and pain since my long-time boyfriend had cut things off suddenly. We had a great relationship and were always happy. Sure we fought sometimes, but we never let our heads hit the pillow until we worked out whatever mess existed.

It was the day that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett left Earth and I was starting to think that it was the end of the world for all of us. A week of tears, stomach aches and very little sleep followed. It wasn't until I gave up all hope of convincing him that we should be together that I finally was able to start the healing process.

Here I am today, the day after my favorite holiday of July 4th with a smile on my face. Sure things haven't been going the way I wanted, but I'm ready to attempt this fresh start. From this post on there will be no more negativity in my life (or if there is, it won't be spoken of). I'm looking on the bright side of life and will find something positive out of every negative because there is always more than one way to look at something.

As for today, I can say that I had a 100% fabulous 4th of July! I spent the day as a third wheel with my best friend and her boyfriend. I know that doesn't sound fun, but we went to an AMUSEMENT park! One I hadn't been to in nearly 10 years. Rides and a water park all day followed by the best fireworks show I've seen! We were surrounded by fireworks. Legal and illegal. Once I thought that I wanted to cry because he should have been with me at that very moment, but I'm a single woman now and I am strong. As much as I miss everything about him, I am ready to take down the world for ME! We are entering a new era and I WILL be happy. Even if it kills me.

Today I have to go to work, but hey, that just means more human interaction and an endless supply of iced coffee at no charge. Life is good. And I am positive.
